Life's a Beach

It's summertime and let's face it I've stopped trying to maintain a beach body years ago, but I haven't stopped visiting the beach. I'm am fortunate to live in sunny southern California more specifically Los Angeles county and I can visit the beach year round. There are more than 20 beaches in the LA and Ventura Counties.

Whether you live in Los Angeles or plan to visit here's a list of beaches you should check out...

Dockweiler State Beach (near LAX) is a casual beach where you can enjoy fun around a bonfire.

El Matador State Beach is in Malibu and boasts great scenic rock formation, perfect for you practice your photography skills.

If you enjoy beautiful sandy beaches then check out El Pescador State Beach.

If surfing is what you want to do then visit Malibu/Surfrider Beach on Pacific Coast Highway Rincon Beach near Santa Barbara, Hobson Beach also on Pacific Coast Highway and Surfers Point in Ventura.

A beach best suited for the kiddos is Marina/Mother's Beach in the Marina del Rey also best visited on a weekday...it's a very small beach and can get pretty crowded on the weekends.

It's no secret Malibu has the BEST beaches (at least in my opinion) and Point Dume Beach is certainly the most beautiful beach along Los Angeles's coastline.

One of the most popular beaches know around the world is Venice Beach. When you visit check out the street performers (similar to what you'll see on Hollywood Boulevard) and it's also the home to "Muscle Beach"

Another beach that's perfect for the kiddos and those of us who like to shop is Santa Monica Beachhome of the Santa Monica Pier and near the Third Street Promenade where you can do some shopping, go to the movies and grab a bite to eat and one of the many near by restaurants.

We're blessed to have several beaches this is just a small list of what we have. If you're a resident do yourself a favor and visit one beach a week. You won't regret it.
